Karl Bohm had an afinity for Mozart which is experienced in this historic Requiem, filmed in 1971 in the 18th Century architectural slendour of Vienna's Piaristenkirche. The four oustanding soloists, orchestra and chorus here all had close associations with this great Austrian conductor, who viewed this Requiem as a monumental drama of the Day of Judgment.
