A top-notch recording of unique pieces in the French Chansons repertoire. Lemieux is in fine voice as her contralto lends a fresh approach to standards such as Hahn's 'L'heure Exquise'. The mix of mostly Hahn, sprinkled with Enescu, Debussy, and Chausson, offers a delightful taste of chanson in the early 1900's. Daniel Blumenthal's sympathetic playing gives solid support to Lemieux's rich song. A great piece for any vocal colletion!
