Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 20 (Monique Haas, Boston Symphony Orchestra, dir. Charles Munch) Ravel - Concerto for the Left Hand (Monique Haas, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Munch dir.Charles) Bach - Piano Concerto (Monique Haas, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, dir. Paul Paray) Brahms - Piano Concerto No. 2 (Robert Casadesus, piano Detroit Symphony Orchestra, dir. Paul Paray)
There was a time when three French conductors were at the head of the great American orchestras: Pierre Monteux in San Francisco (1936-1952), Charles Munch in Boston (1949-1962), and Paul Paray, Detroit (1951-1962). We were lucky to reunite in this album four previously unissued recordings made in Boston With munch and in Detroitwith Paray. Also the pianists are French: Monique Haas and Robert Casadesus. And as a special treat, here we have the Mozart KV 466 and the concerto, which appear for the forst time in Monique Haas discography.
