Naumann: Gustav Wasa

Gustav Wasa is an opera conducted by Swedish composer Johann Gotlieb Naumann and the subject is about the famous and powerful King Gustav Wasa. It was recorded by Virgin Classics in 1996 and conducted by Phillipe Brunelle who leads the Orchestra and Chorus of the Royal Swedish Opera. The sound is strongly influenced both by Mozart and Haydn. Which is not so strange being that they all lived at the same time. The booklet contains not only all the lyrics, but also photographs of the performers. It also contains well-written music notes. A splendid opera that I very much appreciated. Highly recommended indeed. 5/5.
