LIR is delighted to be working with the critically acclaimed artist Gilbert Rowland, who has become well-known for his recordings of the complete sonatas of Soler for Naxos, as well as other numerous recordings including the works of Scarlatti, Rameau and Handel.
This release on LIR presents a selection of
sonatas by Sebastian Albero, about whom little is known but who held an important place in Spanish musical history. These works are particularly notable for their interesting harmonic language, and for the obvious influence of Spanish dance rhythms and forms, particularly flamenco.
