Vogel - Piano Works

This exciting release from Gramola features all the solo piano works of Russian composer Wladimir Vogel (1896-1984). Brought together on a 2 CD set for the first time, the 28 tracks feature all his compositions dating from the early “Nature Vivante” of 1917 through to the more mature “Entledigung” from 1982. The style of his musiic, influenced by that of his friend Kurt Weill and teacher Busoni, is clear to hear in this fascinating collection. Pianist Kolja Lessing plays with passion and feeling, bringing to life the wonderful music of this almost forgotten composer.
