Burt Bacharach's new release, Burt Bacharach: Live at the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (Verve Records), is his first-ever live concert recording. The album features the Emmy®, GRAMMY®, and OSCAR®-winning composer joined by his band and singers accompanied by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
“One of the biggest thrills in my life was walking onto that stage,” said Bacharach of performing at the world-famous venue. He originally performed in 2007 and his concerts were so well received that he returned to perform again in 2008.
Fans of Bacharach’s music will treasure the scope, range, quality and quantity of 32 of Bacharach’s songs performed live on stage for this CD. Bacharach is accompanied by his long time singers and band members who have performed around the world with him for many years. Among the classic tunes they perform on the new cd are: “Wishin’ & Hopin’,” “Make It Easy On Yourself,” “I Say A Little Prayer,” and “What The World Needs Now Is Love,” .
The CD captures the music, fun and nostalgia of Bacharach’s live concerts that thrill audiences around the world,.. The 32 songs included on the album were all written by Bacharach, and include collaborations with Hal David, Carole Bayer Sager, Elvis Costello and others.
Burt Bacharach is a legend of popular music.
