"Charm" is the debut release from Naya Baaz - a groundbreaking new collaboration between two extraordinary musicians (Rez Abbasi & Josh Feinberg) who have both achieved a rare level of mastery in challenging musical traditions from opposite sides of the globe. Rez Abbasi, who recently moved from Karachi to California as a Guggenheim fellow, has earned a stellar reputation as a guitarist who combines his love of jazz (as heard on his last major release, "Django Shift") with a range of international influences from South Asia and beyond: Josh Feinberg is among the few Western musicians who have mastered the challenging heritage of the Hindustani sitar, specializing in the Maihar Gharana style from northern India. He is also a jazz bassist who studied with Paul Bley and Dave Holland.
