Much of the material in this edition, all of the recording for Mercury, has been remastered for this project by Thomas Fine - and in some cases appears on CD for the first time. The box also includes the first recordings by Los Romeros - "Flamenco Fenómeno" and "Spanish Guitar Music" - originally released on Contemporary Records. The extensive booklet includes original liner notes by Igor Kipnis, a text by Los Romeros expert Walter Aaron Clark (author of "Los Romeros: Royal Family of the Spanish Guitar"), and a "sessionography" explaining the background to each Mercury recording, texts of the vocal tracks, and also the miniature illustrations that adorned the backs of the original LP covers.
