The Kammerphilharmonie and Paavo Järvi are a dream combination, sparking worldwide enthusiasm with their recordings for RCA/Sony Music. Their recording of all Beethoven symphonies still has reference character. With this album they begin a re-recording of all of Joseph Haydn's "London" symphonies, starting with Symphonies 101 and 103, both written during Haydn's second trip to London. Symphony 101 bears the (subsequently added) epithet "The Clock"; Symphony No. 103, his penultimate symphony, is known as the one "with the timpani roll." Both are heard here in a new recording that is also excellent in terms of sound.
