Last year, guitarist Julian Lage ("one of the world's most dazzling improvisers" NY TIMES) met for the first time with fellow guitarist Bill Frisell on his second Blue Note album, "View With A Room" - a summit meeting of two top guitarists, so to speak. As a "follow-up" to this musical stroke of luck, "The Layers" will be released in 2023 with six more Lage originals recorded during the same sessions, again exploring a wide range of guitar sounds and -textures as Lage and Frisell seamlessly blend their individual 6-string styles.
