In 2023, the Emerson String Quartet, without question one of the most famous string quartets in the world, will give its last concert. To honor the quartet's 35-plus years of recording activity, two recordings from recent years have been added to their highly successful Complete Edition (2016), which is now available only in antiquarian form. The "The New Complete Recordings" box set thus also includes the double album "The New York Concert" together with Evgeny Kissin and the 2017 recording "Chaconnes and Fantasias - The Music of Britten and Purcell". Among the highlights of the quartet, which has won numerous international awards, including nine Grammy Awards, are the complete Beethoven, Shostakovich and Bartók string quartets, as well as the successful Bach album "Bach: The Art of Fugue". The liner notes have been revised by Eugene Drucker and offer a successful review of the history of the Emerson String Quartet. Numerous photos of the musicians and the original covers of the albums complete this limited edition.
