Vince Guaraldi: Jazz Impressions Of Black Orpheus
LPs 2 & 3 (or CD 2) feature mostly previously unreleased takes from the recording sessions for "Jazz Impressions Of Black Orpheus". J "azz Impressions of Black Orpheus" is the third album by American jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi. With it, the pianist made his breakthrough. The album contains both original compositions and cover versions of songs from the 1959 French-Portuguese film Black Orpheus, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, and spawned the hit single "Cast Your Fate to the Wind," which won the Grammy Award for Best Original Jazz Composition in 1963. Therefore, this album is often referred to as Cast Your Fate to the Wind.
