A decade after the last remastering, completely new HD 24 bit / 192kHz transfers of the original master tapes were created by the legendary Solti Ring. This new 2022 remastering was done by Philip Siney, longtime Decca sound engineer, and supervised by Dominic Fyfe, Decca Classics Label Director. Significant sound improvements have been achieved, thanks to these new transfers and new, optimized remastering technologies. For the first time, Wagner's complete work of art can also be experienced in Dolby Atmos surround sound. This Hybrid SACD presents a selection of the highlights of Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen, with a dream cast and Sir Georg Solti conducting the Vienna Philharmonic. Audiophile Hybrid SACDs can be played on any CD player. However, they contain a much higher digital resolution than a normal audio CD. Also included is a 24-page booklet with photos of the original recording sessions.
