VARIOUS

Among the gems included in this twenty four track re-mastered collection we feature an all time classic from Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" covered by such diverse and legendary artists as The Beach Boys and Joni Mitchell. Other classics for your delight include The Drifters "Such A Night" featuring a young Clyde McPhatter and The Cadillacs singing "Speedo" covered some years later in his inimitable style by Ry Cooder. Red Robin label boss Joe Robinson pops up again and we present his young hopefuls The Vocaleers, The Du Droppers, The Scarlets and The Rainbows who were soon to welcome into their ranks the legendary Mr Don Covay. Over at Parrot Records The Five Thrills and The Orchids managed to record a few classics including "Hey Miss Fine" and "My Baby's Gone" before the label closed in 1956. Meanwhile at Henry Stones Rockin' Label The Charms reached the No. 1 spot with "Hearts Of Stone" featuring a guy named Otis Williams not to be confused with The Temptations vocalist of the same name! We round up our crazy journey with a roll call of groups who in the great Doo Wop tradition came, went, changed their names and still managed to leave us some classic cuts to enjoy down the years. Step up to the plate The Cellos, The Delroys, The Copesetics, The Claremonts, The True Loves, The Crows, The Four Fellows and The Empires, heroes one and all!
