In a career than spanned more than five decades Arthur Lyman's recording output was impressive; he recorded well over two dozen albums for the Hi-Fi label alone and went on to record more for GNP Crescendo. His "Taboo" album sold well in excess of two million copies and for the single "Yellow Bird" to make # 4 on the American singles chart in 1961 when all around him were post rock 'n' rollers like Del Shannon, Bobby Lewis, Gary (U.S.) Bonds and Pat Boone was also no mean feat.
