Gregory Porter

After ten years and six albums, Gregory Porter has established himself as one of the best singers in the jazz world. In 2021, he releases a special career retrospective: "Still Rising - The Collection" includes highlights from his catalog as well as a selection of duets and five new songs. "This is my music so far, but it's not a 'greatest hits.' They often appear at the end of a career, and I still feel new and young in mine. I have a lot more to say. There's always something in an artist's career that people don't know about - I wanted to make them aware of that," the singer said. The new tracks, two new arrangements and nine previously released fan favorites await on the first CD. Included are Porter originals such as "Liquid Spirit", "Hey Laura", "Holding On" and "Revival" and cover versions, for example of Moby's "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?" or Sting's "It's Probably Me". The second disc features Porter's interpretations of classics like "Grandma's Hands," "The Girl From Ipanema," and "Fly Me To The Moon," as well as collaborations with Jamie Cullum, Paloma Faith, Lalah Hathaway, Lizz Wright, and Jeff Goldblum - and even recordings by Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Julie London, and Buddy Holly.
