One of his recordings for Deutsche Grammophon in particular achieved immense popularity: the 2nd movement (Andante) of the Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major (K. 467) served as the soundtrack for the Swedish feature film "Elvira Madigan" (known in German-speaking countries as "Das Ende einer großen Liebe"), which led to the work becoming widely known as the "Elvira Madigan Concerto". The complete recording of the concerto was released together with the Piano Concerto No. 17 in G major (K. 453), the cover adorned with a film photo of actress Pia Degermark as Elvira Madigan. To mark the 100th anniversary of Géza Anda's birth in November 2021, this recording is now reissued on vinyl, based on the master of the original source and using the original artwork.
