Steve Marriner, one of Canada's busiest artists, has proven himself to be a versatile and highly skilled musician, songwriter and producer. In addition to nine Maple Blues Awards as a harmonica player and singer, he has won ten other Maple Blues, two Canadian Indie Music, two JUNOs and one American Blues Music award as one-third of swamp rockers MonkeyJunk Steve has played in the studio and on stage with some of Canada's best blues and rock artists like Colin James, Sass Jordan and Matt Andersen and the 2018 album with Harry Manx under the Manx Marriner Mainline banner has made a splash on both sides of the border. Hope Dies Last was half-cut before the lockdown at Ganaraska Recording Company, Jimmy Bowskill's studio (The Sheepdogs and Blue Rodeo) - but when the lockdown came, Steve had the time to think about what else he could access and what was good enough to release Lead track Take Me To The City was recorded three years ago in a session at Greg Keelor's studio. Somethin Somethin was also recorded two years ago, long before Covid Lockdowns made mental health an international issue. Other singles How High and Coal Mine were written and recorded last year.
