Hope Dies Last was half-cut before the lockdown at Ganaraska Recording Company, Jimmy Bowskill's studio (The Sheepdogs and Blue Rodeo) - but when the lockdown came, Steve had the time to think about what else he could access and what was good enough to release Lead track Take Me To The City was recorded three years ago in a session at Greg Keelor's studio. Somethin Somethin was also recorded two years ago, long before Covid Lockdowns made mental health an international issue. Other singles How High and Coal Mine were written and recorded last year.
