When the world premiere recording of Leonardo Vinci's baroque opera Baroque opera Artaserse was released, it was enthusiastically received by the press. No less than five world-class countertenors (in addition to Jaroussky and Cencic, Valer Barna-Sabadus, Franco Fagioli and Yuriy Mynenko) slipped into the roles of the legendary vocal virtuosos. As at the premiere in Rome in 1730, they were joined by another tenor, Daniel Behle in this recording. Rondo magazine wrote of the world premiere recording: "What they all have in common is their enormous technical skill and virtuoso sovereignty. Lovers of high and highest notes can therefore expect a good three hours of vocal bliss, further enhanced by the lustily performing Concerto Köln under Diego Fasolis." Reviews "Concerto Köln lets the emotions boil under the direction of Diego Fasolis." (Badische Zeitung, 09.10.2012) "The performance of the singers is simply stunning - an igniting baroque firework." (Musikwoche KW 43 / 2012) "This recording is a sensation." (HR2 Kultur, 19.10.2012) "The rediscovery of a once celebrated baroque opera - spectacular not only because of the top-class cast!" (stereoplay, December 2012) "Sensational landmark recording" (Gramophone, January 2013)
