Guitarist and composer Pat Metheny has won 20 Grammy Awards in twelve different categories, including Best Rock Instrumental, Best Contemporary Jazz Recording, Best Jazz Instrumental Solo and Best Instrumental Composition. The Pat Metheny Group has won seven consecutive Grammys for seven consecutive albums. On his latest album, Road To The Sun, Pat Metheny once again surprises us with his seemingly endless ability to gain new vistas while maintaining that instantly recognizable Metheny sound. With two major new works performed by five of the world's leading guitarists, Pat Metheny reveals a new way to blur boundaries between genres while revealing new facets of an already expansive personal language. Grammy-winning Jason Vieaux, described by NPR as "perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation," was joined by Metheny for his four-movement solo guitar suite Four Paths Of Light. The centerpiece of this album is Road To The Sun, a six-movement piece interpreted by the Grammy-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ) - Pat Metheny describes them as "one of the best bands in the world."
