Born into a family of musicians, Varduhi Abrahamyan is a graduate of the Yerevan Conservatory and has performed with notable opera companies around the world. Since her first appearance at the Paris Opera she has triumphantly returned there with parts such as Carmen, Italiana in Algeri, etc. Amongst many others, she has sung at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre, the Glyndebourne Festival, Rossini Opera Festival Pesaro, the Bavarian State Opera, Hamburg State Opera, Canadian Opera, Zurich Opera and in Geneva, whereas debuts are foreseen at the MET in New York and at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Rhapsodyis part of a series of recordings produced by the Cecilia Bartoli –Music Foundation and published by Decca Classics under the label Decca ‐Mentored by Bartoli. With this series, the Foundation aims to support, advise and coach exceptional artists in the making of new recordings that carry the quality stamp of Cecilia Bartoli.
