This new recording by Belgian pianist Stephane de May is a remarkable escapade around several composers who were of particular importance to him. These pieces have marked out his career as a musician and, put end to end, are a succession of emotions. Recorded under particular conditions of intimacy (in his own work studio and on his personal instrument with which he maintains an almost carnal relationship), this very personal album contains many slow and meditative pieces, those in which one can also hear the silence surrounding the notes. A prodigious pianist, Stéphane De May shares his passion delicately and thoughtfully through his sensitive personality and contact. After graduating from the Ecole Normale Alfred Cortot in Paris, and the concert diploma at the Conservatory of Rotterdam, he completed his training by obtaining the Superior Diploma of Chamber Music at the Conservatoire of Mons, after receiving the congratulations of the jury comprised of great masters. Since 2014, Stéphane De May is the Director of the classical department of the Royal Conservatory of Liège. He is also a piano professor at the Rotterdam Conservatory and is a regular guest professor of the HEMU of Sion in Switzerland.
