University of Texas at El Paso Wind Symphony; Genevro, Bradley; Messiah College Wind Ensemble
The present release features Three American Symphonies by composers Morton Gould Hall, Robert Jager, and Joseph Willcox Jenins. The University of Texas at El Paso Wind Symphony is the top concert band in the music department at the University of Texas at El Paso. The Wind Symphony performs a wide variety of literature for the wind band including transcriptions, and works from the standard and contemporary wind repertoire. The ensemble frequently tours the Southwest region. The Messiah College Bands represent a cross-section of the campus community. Participation in the groups is decided by auditions held each semester. The Wind Ensemble has performed at multiple Pennsylvania Music Educators State Conventions, several District 7 In-service events and a variety of venues on the East Coast including the International Trumpet Guild Convention in 2009 and the College Band Directors National Association Eastern Division Conference in 2010. The Wind Ensemble maintains an active recording schedule with several releases under the Mark Custom and Klavier Record label.
