The recording’s focal point is on "Northern Landscapes" by Derek Healey. Inspired by Canadian modernist paintings, Healey portrays the stark contrasts of a country whose proud national motto is: "A mari usque ad mare" – from sea to sea. Works by Ruth Watson Henderson, Denis Bédard, Wolfgang Bottenberg and Peter Mathews complete the picture. German-Canadian Claudia Tesorino is one of the leading ambassadors on the classical saxophone. She has become internationally renowned for her outstanding interpretations in combination with organ.
