The Spartan Marching Band (SMB) is one of the oldest and most recognized university marching bands in the country. The Spartan Band was founded in 1870 as a 10-member student group and has grown to over 300 members strong. The SMB made has been to five Rose Bowls, most recently in 2014, played for five U.S. Presidents, and is a recipient of the Louis Sudler Trophy. “Victory for MSU” brings you the amazing sounds and energy of a game day Saturday on the banks of the red cedar that all Spartan fans know and love! The album contains MSU favorites like “Victory for MSU” and “Let’s Go State” as well as reworkings of popular favorites like “Sing Sing Sing” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” The band is under the direction of Dr. David Thornton and Prof. Simon Holoweiko.
