Terry Callier was an American jazz, soul, and folk guitarist and singer-songwriter. His 1972 release “What Color Is Love” mixes the Chicago soul sound from Chess Cadet records of the modern soul of Curtis Mayfield and Jerry Butler. He opened for George Benson and Gil Scott-Heron. His creamy, soulful tenor floats atop the groove that he creates. After gaining custody of his daughter he became a full-time father and drifted away from music and in to computer science. He died in 2001 from Cancer.
