“Like Django Reinhardt, bobby was one of the first jazz musicians who came from a totally European background and created his own jazz langage” (David Amram) Bobby Jaspar was a Belgian cool jazz and hard bop musician and composer. He learned to play piano and clarinet when he was very young, but later took up the tenor saxophone and flute- the two instruments for which he was most well-known. He started his career with the Bop Shots band, before moving to Paris in 1950 where he played and recorded with the best European jazzers of the time.
