With this album, the Ensemble Quentin le jeune gathers works by Antoine Dauvergne, Julien-Amable Mathieu, and Jean-Pierre Guignon. With these works as their arsenal, the ensemble introduces the listener to the salon of these accomplished musicians who were favored composers of Louis XV, Madame Adelaide, and Victoire de France. Jean-Christophe Lamacque (violin), Agnes Lamacque (violin), Carole Carrive (cello), and Francoise Depersin (harpsichord) created Ensemble Quentin le jeune in 1999 with the mission of performing works from the Baroque era. Lovers of French music, they defend the brilliant French violin school, of which the composers Quentin, Guignon, Guillemain, and Mondonville are members. Passionate listeners and seasoned interpreters, the ensemble’s mission is to bring life into sometimes forgotten pieces, making the music eloquent and touching for today’s audience.
