V2: Organ Saint-remy-de-proven
Label: Pavane Catalog: ADW7581 Format: COMPACT DISC JEAN-PIERRE LECAUDEYThe program featured on this album was assembled in order to demonstrate at length the impressive possibilities of this substantial instrument, which was rebuilt by Pascal Quoirin between 1977 and 1983. The second section of this presentation of the great organ of Saint-Remy-de-Provence deals with repertory from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The reconstruction of this instrument was simply intended to favor the contemporary organ, while keeping in mind organ history and particularly the French romantic and symphonic organ. The organ-builder Pascal Quoirin proposed an uncompromising composition of stops, which included very characteristic families of pipes in order to obtain homogeneous ensembles, but which also reveal new unexpected qualities. The concept of the variation, the main theme of this program, allows one to hear a wide range of various registrations. Price: $19.98 |
