What happens, when thirteen ladies come together and direct their energy toward their most precious pastime? A new album is created! “In Lucem”- in light! Humbly, yet with dedicated proficiency, the Finnish a cappella group Luminos has boldly taken on some of the greatest musical works of all time, resulting in enchantingly mellow music. It’s like a little piece of heaven. The artistic producer of this album is Heikki Liimola. Accompaniments are by Aboa Nova Ensemble (strings, woodwind, and harp), Ilmo Ranta (piano) and Markku Hietaharju (organ), and conducted by Erkki Lasonpalo. Solo parts are sung by baritone Juha Kotilainen. Sauli Hannuksela is the artistic director of Luminos. Luminos is a vocal ensemble of 13 female singers. Their repertoire comprises of a cappella and accompanied music, both sacred and secular. The group also offers performances with visiting artists. The ensemble reached its present form in 2012. Luminos works purposefully, and focuses on continuously improving their vocal technique, resulting in the group’s homogeneous and distinctive sound. For its members, Luminos gives energy and challenges; for its audience, moods of harmony and delight.
