In the year 2009 the pianist Jean-Pierre Collot and producer Stefan Winter met for the first time for a special recording with ensemble recherche of the music composed by Hans Abrahamsen, "Schnee", the harbinger of "let me tell you". Jean-Pierre is a member of ensemble recherche. Five years later, Collot and Winter met again to record music for Winter's sound installation "Vor der Stille". During that time Winter and Collot developed the idea to record a piano solo album. Int he listening room of Winter & Winter, Collot played the music of Sciarrino, Wagner and Debussy. The decision was made to combine Debussy and Sciarrino. And after Marita Emigholz form Radio Bremen offered a coproduction the way was free to realize "Universe".
