All were organists- Jehan Alain, Oliver Messiaen, and Maurice Duruflé.; The performance displays, rather than an abrupt stylistic change from romanticism to modernism, a steady metamorphosis across the teacher-student generations.; Heindl received his musical instruction as a member of the Leipzig Thomanerchor.
