L'orgue De St Paul's Bloor Street / Baskeyfield
Catalog: ACD2 2719
Originally from England, organist David Baskeyfield, 2014 Canadian Int’l Organ Competition first-prize winner, is heard in a diverse program, including works by Saint-Saëns, Howells and Vierne, showcasing the organ of St Paul’s Church in Toronto—an ideal instrument to introduce the organist to a new generation of listeners. Though the St. Paul’s organ has not been recorded in recent years, it is well known to organ historians. Mr. Baskeyfield is active as an accompanist, continuo player and occasional cocktail pianist, and has an occasion given theatre organ recitals.
