François Chaplin (piano)

Schubert: Impromptus D899 & D935; Schubert/Liszt: Litanei No.1

Pianist François Chaplin was a prizewinner at the Senigallia International Competition, was awarded the Mozart Prize and Robert Casadesus Prize at the Cleveland International Competition, and graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris with a Premier Prix. He is currently a professor at the Conservatoire de Rayonnement Régional in Versailles. On this recording, Chaplin plays Schubert’s beloved Impromptus. Each one of these eight works is, in its own way, a microcosm of the Schubertian world – an echo of the Vienna that was so dear to him. They give proof to the brilliance of Schubert’s genius in all its intricate and astonishing complexity.
