Warnier; Orchestre National de Lyon; Slatkin

Composed by: Saint-Saens, Camille

To celebrate the inauguration of the newly restored former organ of the Palais du Trocadéro and Palais de Chaillot in Paris, the Orchestre National de Lyon and their organist-in-residence, Vincent Warnier, present two major works for organ and orchestra by Camille Saint-Saëns. Both are historically linked with the great Cavaillé-Coll organs, and are performed here together with an arrangement for solo organ of his famous Danse macabre. French organist Vincent Warnier (b. 1967) completed his musical studies at the Conservatory of Strasbourg, the Conservatory of Rueil-Malmaison (class of Marie-Claire Alain) and the Conservatory of Paris, where he won numerous awards (organ with Michel Chapuis and Olivier Latry). An instrumentalist and improviser with an international concert career, he performs regularly in Japan and Europe. He has taught at the University of Poitiers and is now a professor at the College Stanislas in Paris.
