Ciboulette by Reynaldo Hahn is considered to be one of the last great masterpieces of French operetta. The action takes place in Paris in 1867, and is filled with a gallery of characters typical of the Belle Époque. This video features Laurence Equilbey leading the Toulon Opera. The second-largest opera house in France, Toulon’s hall is one of the country’s national historic monuments. Soloists here include soprano Julie Fuchs in the title role and tenor Julien Behr as Antonin, her love interest.
