Boccherini: Flute, Oboe Chamber Music
Ittzes; Hadady; Abraham; Barsony; Rohmann
Composed by: Boccherini, Luigi
Boccherini and the minuet: these two words are as closely interlinked in one’s mind as Foucault and the pendulum. Yet, it is not the title of an individual piece that has stuck to his name as an “epic attribute” but the designation of a dance movement he composed by the hundreds during his lifetime: nearly all of his 600 compositions contain a minuet. Gergely Ittzés is widely known as an expert of modern flute playing, and one who is also committed to the entire flute literature; moreover, he keeps extending and enlarging it by performing forgotten works and making transcriptions.
