Complete Music For Cello And Piano
Composed by: Martucci, Giuseppe
This collection brings together the chamber output of the prolific composer Giuseppe Martucci, works spanning roughly ten years of his career. The earliest – the Sonata in F sharp minor, op.52 – composed when Martucci was just 24, has distinct richness and maturity to go alongside the young composer’s creativity. These qualities become more pronounced in the Tre Pezzi op.69 for the piano and cello that are ‘among the foremost chamber works of the entire late 1800s’. Italian cellist Roberto Trainini and fellow countryman Massimiliano Ferrati perform. Recorded in 2013.
