Friends Armel Dupas (keyboards) and Corentin Rio (drums) met in Paris in 2008, and in February 2013 decided to create the Waterbabies duo to participate in the Vienne RéZZo Focal Jazz, which they won. Their music can be defined as independent electro-jazz where voice is present in various forms, while vocoder and machinery give this duo a unique sound. Inspired by pop music, Waterbabies compositions and methods are a clever mix between contemporary New York jazz and independent electro-pop.
