Borders Behind / Adnan Joubran

On his first solo album, the youngest of Le Trio Joubran has chosen to collaborate with three musicians hailing from a variety of cultural backgrounds: the Indo-French tabla player Prabhu Edouard, the French cellist Valentin Moussou and the Spanish saxophonist and flautist Jorge Pardo. Borders Behind, which reveals Adnan Joubran as a talented composer, embraces the world. Radiating both tenderness and strength, suffused with the heady perfumes of jazz, all spun together by the intricate touch of Joubran's oud, it is as if we were listening to the soundtrack to our imaginations.
