The Italian Character allows its audience to gain an insight into a fascinating world that is usually concealed. It’s about finding the essence of the Italian character, in the center there is the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and its principal conductor, Sir Antonio Pappano This documentary includes some of the best soloists and conductors in the world presenting materials collected during their collaboration with the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia such as Yuri Temirkanov, James Conlon, Valery Gergiev, Daniel Harding, Janine Jansen, Lisa Batiashvili, Evgeny Kissin, Denis Matsuev, Stefano Bollani and Lang Lang. This film was given its world premier at the Vancouver International Festival on October 4, 2013.
