Elgar's Violin Concerto was dedicated to Fritz Kreisler in 1910 and made famous under Yehudi Menuin under the baton of the composer. Walton's Violin Concerto was commissioned by Jascha Heifetz for a debut performance in New York in 1939. Two monumental English Violin Concerti performed by the great Salvatore Accardo under the late lamented Richard Hickox (London Symphony Orchestra).
