Deutscher Phonoverband Gold Award winning album 'Silent Nights' embodies the results of a 1985 recording session at which trumpet playing Jazz legend Chet Baker performed traditional Christmas and Spiritual tunes for the one and only time in his musical career.
Baker, a contemporary and stylistic descendant of Miles Davis carries on the Be-Bop tradition with this album as he improvises, with a full, yet airy tone, characterized by restrained dynamics and his own intimate delivery on these very familiar melodies.
Christopher Mason joins him on alto-sax; Mike Pellara plays piano with James Singleton on bass and John Vidacovich drums.
