Carl Schuricht was an Austro-German repertory specialist from Franz Schubert to Gustav Mahler. Both technically rigorous and whimsical at the implementation level, a youthful dynamism but controlled to a great age, the nomadic leader, greatly admired by the few tolerant yet Sergiu Celibidache has left memorable recordings with various orchestras (Vienna, Stuttgart, Paris, Besançon ...).
His fiery playing the symphonies of Anton Bruckner offers a striking contrast with the more mystical, Eugen Jochum.
