Brahms, Beethoven / Richter

The legendary pianist Sviatoslav Richter was remarkably versatile recording every major composer from Bach to Prokofiev. Throughout his life however he continued to return to Beethoven which arguably became his specialty. Richter was at the height of his powers when these recordings were made exemplified here by his extraordinarily lyrical yet architecturally taut performances of the Beethoven Sonatas and boldly patrician rendering of the Brahms Concerto. RCA's sound was great back then and in this newly remastered French incarnation sounds even better.
