A varied disc of Ellington with cuts from 1943 to 1966. All of these performances are wonderful with a few rare cuts to make the collector salivate. The twelve minute solo piano medley is a real treat as it gives a very intimate view of classic Ellington in the hands of the composer. A very nice introduction or addition to a collection.
