Thomas Hampson is famous enough to get to record whatever he wants, and it's noble of him to use that power to record songs by Rossini and Meyerbeer (!) that are essentialy unknown. Few bought this CD, nobody reviewed it here at Amazon, and now it's out of print. But just a whisper in the ear: these are delightful, melodic, and varied songs that Hampson sings superbly. He knew what he was doing, and those who took a chance and bought the recording have gained much enjoyment.
