The considerable and successful series "Forgotten Treasures", with Alexander Willens and the Kölner Akademie, presents on the new volume a whole range of musical treasures from the trumpet repertoire of the late eighteenth and the early nineteenth centuries.
Among these is found Leopold Kozeluch's Sinfonia concertante for trumpet, mandolin, piano, double bass and orchestra, which, with its almost bizarre setting, is unique in the history of music, and is recorded here on historical instruments for the first time. In addition to that there is also the young Giuseppe Verdi to be discovered as an instrumental composer in a short Adagio for trumpet and orchestra.
