In the tradition of such great tenors as Italy’s Giuseppe di Stefano and Sweden’s Jussi Björling – artists who took pride and pleasure in recording the traditional songs of their homelands – Rolando Villazón follows in their footsteps with an assortment of songs from the land of his birth. Rolando Villazón sings these justly beloved Mexican classics with the same musical scrupulosity, cocoa-colored tone, and dash that have won him a secure place in our era’s firmament of opera stars.
